Strapuntino,
seating objects by Chroma

Born from an observation of everyday behavior, the project reflects on the concept of pause and on the spontaneous use of objects within daily space.

“How often do we sit, lean, or rest on elements never intended to host the body? Surfaces designed for other functions are temporarily reinterpreted as improvised seating—almost “recycled” to answer a momentary need.”

Developed for Chroma, Strapuntino draws on the brand’s expertise in composite materials and advanced manufacturing processes, where industrial precision supports lightweight, durable, and adaptable solutions. This technical foundation enables the project to remain essential in form while responsive in use. Strapuntino originates from an observation of everyday behavior: the spontaneous act of sitting or leaning on objects not intended to host the body. The project reflects on minimal hospitality, adaptability, and the human impulse to inhabit even what was not designed to be inhabited, positioning Strapuntino between object and use, design intention and everyday appropriation.
